Reporting to the UK Ocean Development Manager, the Ocean Freight Procurement Support role will be pivotal in the management of carrier contracts and negotiations. The position will be interactive with both the Sales and Commercial Support Team in London, Manchester and Glasgow to support the most competitive ocean pricing and carrier service options available for our customers and the network. The role requires a skilled and highly motivated approach in carrier negotiations and the support as a 'trusted advisor’ to the group.

Duties Include:

Support the procurement / negotiation and evaluation of ocean pricing to deliver the most reliable and cost effective solution

Support pricing for the completion of ocean freight proposals and tender requests, as received and updated by the Commercial Support Team

Monitor and track market news to share developments and information on our key market areas.

Support operations in the carrier nomination and appointment details after making sure adequate space protection is in place

Support the Sales team to understand the customer’s needs and identify key benefits to help win business

Work closely with our overseas offices to help them secure and develop our key trade lanes

Complete all required reporting expeditiously and accurately

Support UK Sales in joint visits as a 'trusted advisor’ if necessary, if appropriate

Ensure all KPI’s set are constantly achieved.
