37.5 hours per week | Mon - Fri | 09:00 to 17:30 | Hybrid Working | Severn Beach, Bristol

You will play a significant role in overseeing the end-to-end process of our ocean freight import operations at our new modern facility in Bristol.

Working in a team of 4 you will be collaborating with experienced freight professionals - some of the best in the industry - who will help you to further develop your career.

Your role as an Ocean Import Agent:

  • Prepare and process all necessary import documentation including bills of lading, commercial invoices, packing lists, and certificates of origin
  • Ensure compliance with international trade regulations and customs clearance requirements
  • Coordinate with carriers, shipping lines, and logistics providers to ensure timely delivery of goods, while tracking shipments and providing regular status updates to customers
  • Act as the primary contact for customers regarding import shipments, advising on shipping options and import regulations as well as addressing any issues
  • Prepare quotes, invoices and billing for customers, ensuring all costs are accurately accounted for, negotiating rates with carriers and other service providers to maximise profitability

About you - you will have:

  • Previous Ocean Freight experience, particularly within import operations
  • Good understanding and experience of HMRC Import procedures
  • A high attention to detail with the ability to prioritise and efficiently manage workload
  • Experience in a fast-paced office environment with excellent customer relations skills
