An Office Administrator is required to support the day-to-day administrative operations of a busy events venue based in Reading.

About the Company

This independently owned venue is renowned for hosting spectacular events, including weddings, conferences, summer parties, and an iconic annual Christmas party season. Located in the Berkshire countryside, the site includes an elegant Georgian manor house, purpose-built marquee, and a well-equipped events space - all nestled within picturesque grounds.

Key Responsibilities

  • Answer and filter incoming calls to the venue
  • Monitor and manage the dedicated Christmas events mailbox
  • Book Christmas party tickets and respond to enquiries via phone and email
  • Maintain and update party listings and booking records
  • Assist with invoicing and issuing of receipts
  • Provide administrative support to the Sales Director
  • Chase outstanding payments
  • Assist with cash handling including till floats and cashing up
  • Conduct basic market research tasks
  • Manage databases and carry out data entry tasks
  • Help the events team during Christmas parties (evenings and weekends during peak season)
  • Perform other general administrative duties as required

Desirable Experience

Applicants should have some prior experience in an administrative, receptionist, or office support role. Confidence when speaking with clients and strong communication skills are essential. During the Christmas party season, flexibility is required to work some evenings and weekends, full time hours from mid November till 23rd December.

Candidates must be comfortable using Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word. Own transport is essential due to the venue's rural location.

Qualifications and Training

Applicants should have a good general education (GCSEs or equivalent) and be comfortable using computer systems. Previous experience in a similar events or hospitality environment would be advantageous but is not essential.
