A fantastic opportunity to join the Money and Pensions Service in a role that uniquely sits between the Operations Team and the Data Team.  This role would suit somebody with an Operations background who is keen to progress into a more technical role.  A competent user of PowerBI, Excel, SQL and Tableau, you must be able to provide meaningful reports for the business and present the data in insightful ways.   It is recommended you tailor your CV for this role to demonstrate your experience as well as providing the cover letter to show how you align to the essential criteria. About the role:

The Operations and Business Intelligence Analyst will be the conduit between operational teams and either the Data teams or the Data itself. With practical experience of sourcing, managing and visualising data in to outputs that support business management and decision making, this role will look to identify operational topics of interest and successfully source, build or commission reports or dashboards that allow colleagues to continually re-use them to support their day-to-day responsibilities and/or teams.

You will work closely with the Workforce management and planning teams to source the appropriate data to produce trends and forecasts for all our customer facing channels which includes our website. Likewise, working with our Customer Delivery, Policy teams and strategy Teams to isolate themes on contacts and outcomes to drive process, policy or product changes.

This role will have a blend of Analytical focus whereby you will help answer questions or isolate themes independently based on observations, whilst also being hands on in the build of reports, Dashboards and Insight.

Responsibilities:

Reporting directly to the Corporate Director, in this role the Operations and Business Intelligence Analyst will be responsible for the following:
  • Analysing existing systems and operational procedures
  • Understanding the operational needs and business goals of the company
  • Collecting relevant data from within the company and from clients
  • Creating databases for data storage and future access
  • Adhering to company policies and legal requirements in relation to data collection
  • Analysing data through a variety of statistical methods and models, from spreadsheets to graphs
  • Presenting data and recommendations to senior management teams
  • Tracking the progress of operational changes that are implemented across the company through key performance indicators
  • Reviewing data collection processes and assessing the validity of the information stored


You will need to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

Essential Criteria:
  • Experience of working in an Analytical role
  • Experience of working in an Operations role
  • Business Intelligence Analyst certification
  • PowerBI Certified
  • Tableau
  • SQL and Database experience
  • Experience with statistical and mathematical models
  • Excellent knowledge of databases and programs such as Excel or Google spreadsheets
  • Great communicator, able to translate requirements to technical and technical to business language
  • Ability to turn complex data and trends into visual graphs for presentation
  • Ability to source raw data through interviews with employees, customers and clients


Desirable Criteria:
  • Background or education in Maths, statistics and English Beneficial
  • Adobe Insight tools experience
  • Financial services Experience
  • Guidance and Advice Experience
  • Contact centre or operations industry experience in a management or leadership role
