Bid Manager

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Bid Manager with substantial knowledge and experience in the transport industry. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in developing delivery plans for tender responses, focusing on the Bus and Rail divisions. This role is key to crafting compelling proposals that showcase our capabilities and align with client requirements. The Bid Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure all submissions are comprehensive, precise, and strategically robust.

Day to Day of the Role:

  • Formulate bidding strategies by analysing client trends, competitors’ approaches, and operational capabilities.
  • Develop and oversee delivery plans, considering resources, capacity, and strategic approach.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to collect essential information for bid development.
  • Act as the industry expert within the bid team, offering insights on trends, regulatory changes, and the competitive landscape.
  • Coordinate with subject matter experts to ensure the technical accuracy and relevance of bid content.
  • Foster strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to secure successful bid outcomes.
  • Analyse data to inform bid content and strategic direction.
  • Research potential clients, market trends, and competitor activities within the transport sector.
  • Advise on and develop operational delivery plans for new business ventures.
  • Review and refine bid content to ensure quality, compliance, and operational feasibility.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • In-depth understanding of the operational side of the transport industry, particularly within bus and/or rail divisions. This could be someone who has been an operations manager or ran the operation of a bus or train company.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong research and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Capable of thriving in a fast-paced, dynamic, and agile environment.
  • Self-motivated with an enthusiastic approach to business operations.
  • Agile and adaptable, with a growth mindset and openness to change and innovation.
