The Company

We’re supporting an international law firmwith an exciting opportunity for an Operations Manager to join them. This award-winning firm is known for being welcoming and supportive of their employees - business services and lawyers / trainees alike. Known for being international legal experts in sectors such as digital business, energy, financial services, life sciences, real estate, retail and more, they have represented many household names. Having also won an award for Best Law Firm for Legal Tech, we are now delighted to support the recruitment of an Operations Manager to work with a specific Practice Group helping develop, organise and drive the Group's strategic business activities.

Key Responsibilities of the Operations Manager

  • Support stakeholder engagement with department leadership and Fee Earners to ensure a comprehensive understanding of their requirements to deliver excellent client service.
  • Work with Business Services Functions to support the delivery of service objectives.
  • Process design and implementation i.e. the creation of MI dashboards to measure performance and ensure high standards of service.
  • Analysing utilisation reports (weekly) and proactively flagging patterns of behaviour.
  • Attending a variety of Finance meetings to ensure the department is on target with work in progress reporting.
  • Proactively leading on monthly billing requirements across the department.
  • Responsible for production, ongoing maintenance and project related to updates to policies and procedures.
  • Working with Risk and Compliance team to proactively identify operational risks and escalate to management as appropriate.
  • Support the partner review process, administration, planning and execution.
  • Support the implementation of firm-wide initiatives.
  • Representing PG on various projects, escalating any risks or interdependencies.
  • Identify and support the delivery of continuous improvement projects, ensuring business requirements, objectives and anticipated benefits are understood and achieved.
  • Identify business process training needs required for the team required to continue to deliver services.

Skills & Attributes of the Business Development Manager

  • You will ideally have law firm or legal / professional services experience, working within an Operations or Projects / Change environment.
  • This role would suit someone with good financial literacy, able to understand MI data reporting and have strong IT skills, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Exceptional communication and effectively engages stakeholders for coordination of activities to completion.
  • Continuous improvement and change management capabilities.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, including proven experience of building relationships.
  • Experience of managing small projects/initiatives and working with others to deliver these to time and/or budget.
