Job Title: Operations Manager    
Reports to: Depot Manager
Depot: Doncaster Depot

Main Duties 

Managing the day-to-day operations of the depot, leading from the front. Direct report of the Distribution/Transport Manager & the Warehouse Manager within the management team, the role requires a data led approach to support the sales growth within the business by driving efficiency, shaping strategy & identifying opportunities. Must have a customer first approach & be a motivational leader. Must have Sales & Commercial awareness. You will also be involved in stock control and warehousing. Managing the day to day running of the warehouse. Monitoring the quality, quantity, cost and efficiency of the movement and storage of goods. Responsible for the line management of the staff within the distribution team including warehouse staff and transportation staff. Ensuring that all delivery requirements for the depot are successfully met. Working closely with the office manager to ensure the depot runs smoothly at all times.

Key Skills

•    Control of Distribution costs & deliver within budget.
•    Deliver a first-class customer service.
•    Ensure required warehouse/distribution procedures and processes are in place and adhered to.
•    Ensuring we are legally compliant on all of our O-licence compliance requirements.
•    Stock Management – Ensure full availability of products with minimal shrinkage.
•    Ensure our route planning processes are efficient and effective to maximise service.
•    Managing recruitment, training and appraising of employees.
•    Allocation and management of staff resource according to ever changing needs.
•    Manage and maintain Health and Safety standards.
•    Manage an effective stock control and replenishment process.
•    Liaising with customers to ensure high levels of customer service are being achieved.

 Knowledge and Experience:        

•    National CPC holder & IOSH certificate would be advantageous but not essential, as training would be provided for the right applicant. 
•    Communication and Leadership skills.
•    Able to motivate a workforce and encourage strong teamwork.
•    Competent in use of Microsoft suite of packages.  Previous experience of operating a Warehouse Manager System (WMS), alongside Tachograph (Vision) software would be advantageous
•    Ability to be flexible as we are a 6 day operation.
•    Organisational and planning skills.
