Operations Support coordinator

  • Salary £27,000 to £32,000
  • Monday to Thursday 7:00 - 4:00, Friday 8:00 am - 1:00 (39 hours)
  • Walsall

The role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Operations Support coordinator to Supporting the team in the planning and smooth running of production processes, you will be required to detail the materials and machines to be used, the labour to be used, the time required to do the job, and the quality standards to be met. You will be mainly office based, with regular touchpoints with the shopfloor. The shopfloor presence will enable you to monitor throughput and discuss problems, such as a shortage of staff or materials and machinery breakdowns.

Candidates must be good communicators, flexible with an excellent work ethic, and be prepared to work hard in a fast-paced environment.

About you

  • Experience of Production Planning of 2 years minimum is essential to be successful in this role.
  • The successful candidate should be able to collaborate well with others, as operations is a cross functional role.
  • This individual will need to work with other departments, such as Engineering, Quality and Production, to coordinate and integrate production plans.
  • There will be a strong need to build and maintain good relationships with operators to ensure smooth and timely delivery of our products.

Specifically, you will:

  • Detail the necessary production equipment, raw materials (building BOM’s) and labour needs for production.
  • Part of the Planning team responsible for providing delivery date and timeline queries from customer base.
  • Raising of production packs and associated paperwork and issuing to relevant Manufacturing department to facilitate on time del / RFT
  • Help coordinate and minute daily / weekly/monthly Production Schedule meetings
  • Identify priority orders and plan accordingly to meet customer requirements.
  • Work with Management to address any issues, setbacks or quality control concerns with the production process.
  • Support the Purchasing team to anticipate raw material demands.
  • Facilitate contract review meeting, discussing new production methods or ways to reduce production costs and increase company profits, as well as taking notes and assigning tasks
  • Prepare, complete and file production paperwork in line with ISO 9001 quality procedures.
  • Other production and / or administrative related tasks may be introduced once settled.
  • Provide administrative support to the operations team. This includes tasks such as scheduling meetings, maintaining records, and creating reports.
  • Monitor and analyse performance data.
  • Manage inventory and procurement stock levels including the ordering of raw materials, receiving, and maintaining stock levels.
  • Identify and mitigate any potential risks to the business and its customers.
  • Support with compliance and regulatory requirements ensuring that the organization is in compliance with any regulatory requirements and industry standards.
