Full Job Description
Do you have expertise in Painting and decorating? Do you thrive on challenges and take pride in your work?  We're recruiting painters and decorators for our client, a company specialising in social housing refurbishments, maintenance, and new build developments. These works will be planned and be around the Milton Keynes, Bedfordshire and Northamptonshire areas with occasional, infrequent works taking place further afield.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare surfaces for painting by washing walls, repairing holes, or removing old paint.
  • Apply paint, varnish, and other finishes to various surfaces using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment.
  • Measure and cut wallpaper or fabric to fit specific room dimensions.
  • Mix and match colours and textures, ensuring proper application techniques.
  • Provide decorative and faux finishes as the project requires.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring all tools and equipment are properly stored and cared for.
  • Collaborate with team members and clients to achieve desired results and meet project deadlines.
  • Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a Painter/Decorator with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
  • Proficiency with painting tools and materials, including brushes, rollers, caulking guns, and spray equipment.
  • Knowledge of various painting techniques and surface preparation methods.
  • Ability to work with a variety of materials, such as paint, varnish, wallpaper, and plaster.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a strong aesthetic sense.
  • The ability to work at heights or in confined spaces if necessary.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Relevant certifications or qualifications in painting and decorating are a plus.

Person Specification • Full Driving licence (clean) • Ability to undertake physically demanding work.   

Benefits:
£37k (permanent position)
Hours 8am-5pm (overtime available – evenings and weekends)
Van, Fuel Card, mobile, PPE (will need own tools)
Performance Related bonus scheme – Earn up to an extra £5,200 per annum
