Job Title: Paralegal/conveyancing fee earner

Location: Stourbridge, West Midlands

Salary: Dependent on experience

Job type: Full time office based

The role:

A self-supportive conveyancing fee earner.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Attending upon clients

Dealing with all types of conveyancing transactions from initial instruction to registration to include:

  • Registered & unregistered
  • Freehold, leasehold, new build & shared ownership
  • Re-mortgages, transfers of equity & help to buy
  • Land Registry application
  • Opening and creating new files.
  • Carrying out all work incidental to the progression of conveyancing matters using the Firm’s case management system, including but not limited to:
  • Issuing first letters.
  • Applying for searches and Chancel Checks.
  • Using Land Registry Direct.
  • Preparing contracts
  • Actively progressing the client’s matter to conclusion
  • Closing files
  • Complying with the Firm’s various policies and procedures contained in the office manual
  • Attracting new clients where possible
  • Any other duties that are reasonably asked by the partners.

The Candidate:

  • Super organised
  • Friendly and helpful
  • Flexible and able to prioritise a changing to do list
  • Detail oriented and accurate
  • Trustworthy, discreet and reliable
  • Self-motivated
  • Articulate and a good communicator
  • Good with English (verbally and written)
  • Proficient in using a computer (especially Word, Excel and MS Office)
  • Calm under pressure
