Manchester City Council is seeking a Part -Time / Ad Hoc Domestic Cleaner for Longsight Retail Market. This role is crucial for maintaining high standards of hygiene and cleanliness within the centre and its surroundings. The position is ideal for someone flexible, ready to cover shifts on an as-needed basis due to annual leave or sickness absence.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Undertake general cleaning duties across all areas of the building to ensure a hygienic, clean, and safe environment for all customers.
  • Support in the preparation, production, and serving of meals, snacks, and other refreshments as instructed.
  • Safely store all cleaning equipment and materials, maintain stock control records, and liaise with managers for resource needs, reporting any damages or necessary repairs.
  • Ensure the centre is accessible and welcoming to all, adhering to Health and Safety regulations and promoting equality and social inclusion.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience in cleaning and maintenance, preferably in a public or retail setting.
  • Ability to work flexible hours across long shifts (12 hours), either from 6:00 am to 18:00pm or 7:00 am to 19:00pm
  • There will be no rotas, because its an as and when request to cover for annual leave and sickness absence
  • Strong understanding of health and safety regulations.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Commitment to providing services that foster equality and social inclusion.
