Training & Development

At Right at Home Chippenham, we’re proud to provide training that goes far beyond the basics. Whether you're new to care or bringing past experience, our structured approach ensures you feel confident, prepared, and fully supported in your role from day one—and as you grow with us.

1. Three Days of In-Person, Classroom-Based Training

Your journey begins with a comprehensive three-day, face-to-face induction held at our local office. This practical, hands-on training includes:

  • Medication Training – Safe handling, administration, and accurate record keeping
  • Basic Life Support – Emergency response, CPR, and first aid essentials
  • Manual Handling – Safe movement and transfer techniques that protect both you and your clients
  • Key care skills including infection control, communication, and person-centred support

This training provides a strong foundation and ensures you’re confident before visiting clients on your own.

2. Shadowing Shifts

Following your classroom training, you’ll complete supervised shadowing visits with experienced CareGivers. This gives you the opportunity to observe real visits, ask questions, and begin your work with reassurance and guidance.

3. E-Learning Platform: Learn Everything You Need to Know

You’ll also be enrolled on our comprehensive e-learning platform, which covers all core areas of home care. These include:

  • Dementia awareness
  • Fire safety
  • Health and safety
  • Infection prevention
  • Safeguarding
  • Food hygiene
  • Mental capacity and more

This online training ensures you're equipped with the knowledge and understanding needed to deliver safe, high-quality care—at your own pace.

4. Fully Funded NVQ Qualifications

We’re committed to your long-term development. After 12 months of employment, we offer you the opportunity to complete a fully funded NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Health & Social Care. This nationally recognised qualification can open doors to senior and specialist roles, and we’ll support you every step of the way.

What We’re Looking For

We’re not just hiring qualifications—we’re looking for the right values. If you are kind, patient, and genuinely care about others, we’d love to hear from you.

You will need:

  • A genuine passion to support and care for others
  • A positive, professional, and flexible attitude
  • A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle
  • Availability to work alternate weekends
  • The legal right to work in the UK

No previous care experience is required. We provide all the training and mentoring you need to feel confident and capable in your role.
