Job Title: Part time Group Head of HR / Head of HR

Location: London, Wimbledon, Richmond, Kensington, Chiswick, Putney, Barnes, Clapham, Fulham, Chelsea, Teddington, Twickenham, Surbiton, Esher, Weybridge, Vauxhall.

Salary: £55,000 - £70,000 pa depending on experience (prorated to £33,000 -£42,000 pa for 3 days per week) + Benefits inc 25 days hols (pro rata) + Bank Holidays

Evolve Recruitment are seeking to recruit a, experienced proactive, self-motivated and experienced Group Head of HR for an established business based near Chelsea, London. The successful candidate will have 7 years or more solid HR operations and team management experience as well as current up to date knowledge of Employee relations and legislation as well as HR best practice.

This will be a part-time 3 days per week position, at least 2 of these 3 days need to be office based. This role will involve managing 2 (part time) HR team members. The successful applicant will be expected to have some flexibility in ailability for exceptional urgent HR matters if they arise outside regular days.

You will be responsible for driving HR initiatives that support the business’s strategic goals and objectives. You will work closely with senior management and department heads to provide expert HR guidance and support, ensuring that our clients people practices are in line with industry regulations and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Mentoring and managing line managers in ongoing management of staff to ensure staff fulfil their potential, are appropriately trained and retained. Where necessary PIP plans are put in place and managed.
  • Take responsibility for staff engagement
  • Oversee the recruitment process including but not limited to; Agree outline rationale and salary expectations for new hire, Create job descriptions, Liaise with recruitment agencies and LinkedIn Recruiter, Coordinate interviews and feedback
  • Ensure the the effective preparation and issuing of offer letters and contracts for all new starters for the Group (FTE and Contractors) and ensure that all new starter documentation is collected and available to payroll
  • Manage all HR related documentation - probation letters, terminations, redundancies, pay rises etc
  • Ensure all employment documents properly completed and filed including on any online databases such as the Cezanne HR system,
  • Ensure all Company HR or staff related Policies are kept up to date, monitored, reported against and adhered to (WFH, Travel & Expense etc), notifying relevant colleagues of any changes in legislation or regulation and ensuring relevant processes and policies are updated.
  • Manage performance reviews/appraisals process including preparation of review and bonus letters
  • Ensure that payroll is fully notified in a timely manner of any adjustments required and that all adjustments have been appropriately authorised
  • Gather / create employee reports from Cezanne for finance when requested.
  • Setting up and managing company benefits - cycle to work scheme, pension, healthcare etc Managing Office Manager/Receptionist
  • Managing Leave records and ensuring all forms of leave appropriately recorded
  • Deliver HR training to managers as required to ensure managers are aware of and delivering their role.
  • Maintain and update Company organisational charts as required.
  • Send companywide communications where needed, e.g. new starters

Qualifications & Experience

  • 7 year’s or more relevant proven experience in HR operations
  • Ideally possess a degree in Human Resources or related qualification such as CIPD (full or part qualified) or significant HR experience
  • Experience with managing HR staff
  • Up to date knowledge of employment legislation, its legal implications and HR best practice

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong knowledge of UK employment laws and regulations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
  • Able to demonstrate experience of effectively managing, motivating and inspiring teams, focusing them on successful outcomes, and working across multi-disciplinary teams
  • Able to relate to and work collaboratively with a wide range of people including senior colleagues.
  • Able to manage team members in a matrix organisational structure
  • Able to work at the strategic and operational levels when required
  • Able to work independently on own initiative with limited day-to-day supervision.
  • Discreet and confidential at all times, able to deal with sensitive information in a professional manner
  • Able to adopt a flexible approach to meet business needs which may require evening meetings or events and occasional weekend commitments.

The post holder is expected to carry out other duties from time to time, which are broadly consistent with those described. Duties may be changed, after discussion, to suit the operational requirements of the group.
