About the Role

Cavendish Jewellers are looking for a part-time sales professional to join their successful team to work in this very busy, friendly, family owned and run business. We are looking for a hard working team player who is passionate, enthusiastic and has a keen interest in jewellery retailing.

This role will provide an opportunity to gain experience in a very broad range of product and services due to our vast inventory of precious items, each with its inherent value and story, demanding appreciation and awareness from all our sales personnel.

Key Roles & Responsibilities as Sales Assistant:

The main responsibilities will be

• Serving customers on the shop floor
• Carrying out merchandising and housekeeping duties
• Processing sales and liaising with the onsite repairs workshop

About You: 

• Outgoing cheerful personality with good sense of humour
• Friendly and approachable. Confident with excellent communication skills
• Good organisational skills
• Articulate, literate and numerate - possessing at least GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English & Maths
• Previous experience of working as a sales professional in a high end luxury goods retail environment
• Ability to work well individually and within a team. Hard drive and determination to succeed
• Computer literate

Job Details:

• Location: York City Centre
• Job Type: Part Time, Permanent. Minimum 15-22 hours per week flexible
• Rate of Pay: £11.50 per hour basic dependent on experience plus circa 15% OTE bonus

As a consequence, we have one of the largest and most unique selections of antique and second-hand jewellery in the region, which in addition to ranges of new jewellery enable us to attract a growing list of clients both locally and nationally. We also have a well-established online sales department.
