I am recruiting for a Partner in Contentious Trusts and Probate, with 10 years + PQE to join a prestigious law firm in Hertfordshire. This is an ideal opportunity for a specialist passionate about contentious trusts and probate, wanting to play a pivotal role in advancing a top-ranked team.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Advise on all areas of contentious trusts and probate, including removing executors or trustees, making claims against executors or trustees, defending claims by beneficiaries, challenging Wills or the terms of a Trust, Inheritance Act claims, Court of Protection and succession disputes, and Power of Attorney disputes.
  • Liaise with third parties, experts, and other specialists to ensure comprehensive service delivery.
  • Build effective and positive relationships with clients, referrers, and colleagues, fostering a culture of trust and collaboration.
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff members.
  • Engage in proactive marketing and business development activities to secure further work for the team.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 10 years’ PQE in contentious trusts and probate.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of contested trusts and probate best practices and a good understanding of the Inheritance Act.
  • Strong team collaboration skills.
  • Proficient IT skills, ideally with experience using a case management system.
  • Experience with efficient working practices such as electronic filing.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong client relationship skills.
  • Industry-specific accreditation or qualification such as ACTAPS or SFE is highly desirable.
