Pastoral Support Worker

Reed Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pastoral Support Worker to join our team, working across secondary schools in Leeds and the surrounding area. This role, starting in September 2024, offers the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people by promoting their emotional, social, and academic well-being.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Provide support and guidance to students, fostering their overall well-being.
  • Develop and implement individual pastoral care plans for students requiring additional support.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external agencies to ensure a unified approach to student welfare.
  • Address behavioural issues, devising strategies to enhance student behaviour and engagement.
  • Lead small group sessions and one-on-one interventions for students facing challenges.
  • Monitor and report on student progress, maintaining accurate and confidential records.
  • Contribute to a positive and inclusive school environment, upholding values of respect, diversity, and equality.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience in a pastoral, counselling, or similar role within an educational setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building rapport with various stakeholders.
  • A proactive and empathetic approach, coupled with excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Discretion in handling sensitive and confidential information.
  • Organisational skills and the ability to manage a diverse workload.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Qualifications:
  • Relevant qualifications in education, counselling, social work, or related fields are desirable.
  • Additional training or certifications in child protection and safeguarding are advantageous.
