Pastoral Teaching Assistant

Are you an experienced family support worker and/or learning support practitioner? Do you wish to make an impact within the community of King's Lynn and improve the education offering for young people with additional needs?

This role is pivotal in ensuring that local pupils receive their full education entitlement and achieve their full potential.

To enhance the existing inclusion team, our partner school are seeking an individual who not only shares their values but understands that with a well implemented plan, social and emotional interventions can have a positive impact.

Main aspects of the role:

• Provide learning support interventions for specific pupils, one to one and in small groups across KS1 and KS2
• Become an integral communication link between SLT, class teachers and parent/carers of students

The school will provide training to support the role with zones of regulation and emotion coaching. They will provide a specific room which will be a safe zone for children to use when they feel 'big emotions’ or are particularly vulnerable. This role will complement the role of the ELSA and work as part of their inclusion team which includes a cognition and learning specialist, communication and language support and specialist support for complex needs.

What we're looking for:

• An excellent communicator, with a demonstrated track record of liason
• Minimum of GCSE/Level 2 English and Maths to Grade C
• A caring, nurturing individual who can inspire and engage people of all ages

Details:

• Working hours: 34.5 per week
• Term time only, plus one week
• Salary (pro rata): £19,256 per annum
• Start date: September 2024
