Together with our client we are looking for a Pastry Chef de Partie to join their team. They will assist the Head Chef and Executive Head Chef in ensuring that the highest possible standards of food preparation and presentation are achieved by the College Catering Department, and will competently run a designated section of the kitchen to the required standard set by the Senior chef.

Key Responsibilities:

You will provide high quality and optimum quantities of pastry section products from the college kitchens, for consumption by students, staff, Fellows and commercial customers, to include hot and cold desserts, pastry products, breads etc. You will demonstrate leadership and direction to develop other members of staff working within the pastry section.

Experience & Qualifications:

· NVQ Level 2 Catering & Hospitality (Food Preparation & Cooking: Patisserie and Confectionery), or equivalent gained through apprenticeship.

· Food Hygiene qualification

· A minimum of three years previous experience in a commercial kitchen environment, with at least one years experience in a similar role.

· Experience in high volume conference and banqueting would be an advantage.

· Management of other members of the brigade on the pastry section.

· Cost effective ordering and menu planning and development.

Salary:

£29,018 per annum (inclusive of bonus)

Contract type:

Permanent, Full time
