An excellent opportunity to contribute to the success of the leading professional body for librarians and information professionals within their Pathways apprenticeship team.

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Pathways Officer to support the delivery of CILIP’s assessment services through CILIP Pathways. This varied role sits within a small team and involves coordinating and managing various aspects of the assessment process to ensure seamless delivery and high-quality service.

CILIP Pathways is a subsidiary trading arm of CILIP, dedicated to providing quality assessment services for apprenticeships in the library, information, and knowledge sector. Governed by a majority independent board of directors and staffed by sector experts, we offer robust end-point assessment services regulated by Ofqual. Our team of qualified independent assessors ensures the highest standards in delivering these services.

This is a 6 month contract to cover staff absence.

Key Responsibilities:

Apprenticeship Assessment Support:

  • Manage assessment bookings, time lines, and eligibility checks.
  • Coordinate the assessment process using our apprenticeship management system.
  • Liaise with training providers, apprentices, and assessors to ensure timely booking of end-point assessments.
  • Advise the Professional Services Development Manager on applications for reasonable adjustments and/or extenuating circumstances.
  • Provide guidance on the submission of project proposals.
  • Respond to or escalate enquiries as appropriate.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Experience in the education or assessment sector is a plus.
