Berry Recruitment are currently seeking a Payroll Officer for our client based in Watford. As a Payroll Officer, you will be contributing to the accurate processing of their monthly payroll and ensuring the financial operations are running smoothly.

Pay rate of the Payroll Officer: £14.03 per hour

Working hours of the Payroll Officer: Monday - Friday (9am-5pm). This is a remote-based position. On the rare occasion, you would be required to travel to their Head Office based in Watford.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the payroll database for accurate salary processing and statutory updates.
  • Process statutory payments, deductions, and ensure pension contribution accuracy.
  • Communicate professionally with internal/external stakeholders, maintaining audit trails.
  • Apply internal controls, resolve over-payment incidents, and ensure TUPE adherence.
  • Participate in HR testing, handle non-standard payments, and assist in reconciliation routines.

Requirements:

  • CIPP national payroll certificate or equivalent experience.
  • Previous financial environment experience.
  • Methodical approach with strong communication and analytical skills.
  • Experience using iTrent and/or Oracle
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft packages, especially Excel.
  • Strong team player with time management skills.
  • Basic DBS required.
