Payroll Officer
My client is an accountancy firm based in Chester. They are recruiting this role into their payroll team to cover a maternity leave but the business is growing so as much as the position is initially a fixed term contract for 12 months the likelihood is that there will be a permanent role either at the end of at some point in the contract. They will also consider part-time hours if this is something that fits with personal requirements.
As a Payroll officer you will be responsible for managing the end to end payroll process which will include setting up new starters, leavers, handling maternity, paternity and sickness records amongst other employee situations, calculating take home pay based on statutory deductions, dealing with payroll queries and distributing wages to bank accounts.
This role will suit a candidate who has experience in an end to end payroll position, experience using Sage 50 would be highly advantageous to your application but is by no means essential. The salary is paying up to £32,000 dependant on experience with an attractive benefits package that includes hybrid working, flexibility on working hours and a generous holiday entitlement.
