Paying – £50,000 - £60,000
  
We are partnering with a client in Manchester who are looking for a Payroll Specialist to manage all aspects of manual payroll processing until a new system is implemented soon. You must be able to lead on all things payroll and have experience that will allow you to take the lead on a number of future projects.
  
Key responsibilities of the Payroll Specialist:
  • Checking timesheets to see how many hours employees worked
  • Calculating correct employee pay by considering hours worked, overtime rates, taxes, national insurance payments
  • Processing payments for all staff
  • Processing holiday, sick, maternity and paternity leave payments
  • Answering employee questions about their timesheets and payslips
  • Distributing forms such as P45, P60 and P11d
  • Processing PAYE deductions and sending payroll information to HM Revenue and Customs
  • Obtaining and verifying direct debit banking information from employees
  
Key requirements for the Payroll Specalist:
  • Must have at 5 years relevant experience
  • Strong commercial acumen and financial analysis skills
  • Excellent IT skills including a high level of proficiency in Excel
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Highly organised and methodical
  • Accurate, with high attention to detail
  • Good team player, yet willing to take personal responsibility for issues
  • Self-motivated, resourceful and keen to learn and share knowledge
