About the role

We are recruiting for a Payroll Specialist, this role will be responsible for processing the weekly and lunar payrolls accurately and on-time.

Undertaking all aspects of payroll, from inputting data, processing, HMRC and pension submissions and notifications, and payroll reconciliations.

Supporting the Senior Payroll Specialists by having an excellent knowledge of payroll and pension legislation, processes and procedures and provide payroll related advice, guidance and support to all employees and managers across the business.

As Payroll Specialist, you will provide a professional and responsive payroll service to customers both internally and externally ensuring compliance at all times. 

Role Responsibility

  • End to end payroll processing on a weekly/lunar basis, ensuring compliance at all times.
  • To reconcile third party payments as per the schedules and ensure payments are made on time.
  • To reconcile GL accounts working closely with Finance to ensure accuracy.
  • Create relevant management information to the business through running reports from our payroll database (SAP) into Excel.
  • To ensure company policies and procedures are adhered to at all times.
  • To ensure payroll deadlines are met.
  • To provide training to the team and other areas of the business when required.
  • To assist with the testing of new legislation or new functionality prior to it going into Production.
  • To be able to deal with queries and escalations in a timely manner.
  • To deliver a great service across the whole of the Booker group.
  • To produce existing reports, ensuring they are accurate and amending if required.
  • To ensure GDPR Compliance of Payroll data both internally and externally and report any issues
  • To ensure processes are reviewed, updated, and implemented when required

You will need

  • CIPP qualification
  • Previous experience of working with SAP.
  • Previous experience of running weekly/lunar basis payroll 
  • Ability to meet deadlines and excellent attention to detail 
  • Strong communication skills.
