PDI Technician
Monday to Friday 38.5 hours per week
Based at our client, SMTGB’s modern Machine Preparation Centre (MPC) in Immingham, joining their team of engineers and technicians, you’ll be inspecting and carrying out fitting work on brand new Volvo heavy construction equipment such as wheeled loaders, ADT’s and hydraulic excavators ensuring they meet the customers’ requirements.
This role is a unique opportunity to apply your technical capability and develop your engineering skills through shadowing skilled engineers and on the job training and, in the future, gain your NVQ L3 in Plant Maintenance which will support your further advancement in plant maintenance and field service engineering within the business.
Activity includes:
- Pre-delivery inspections
- Installation of mechanical and electrical equipment such as hydraulics, lights, reversing cameras, seat belt warning systems and radios
- Fitting new parts as requested by the customer such as buckets, hitches and grabs
Your skills/experience:
You may be at the beginning of your vehicle engineering career, have recently completed a vehicle maintenance apprenticeship or you’re an experienced vehicle fitter/technician.
A formal vehicle engineering qualification or apprenticeship is ideal however it’s not essential. What is important is your mechanic experience working with construction plant, Agricultural machinery, HGV’s or Light vehicles.
A full UK driving licence is essential.
