Responsibilities include:

  • Working with members of the Team to understand business requirements, providing advice on potential technical solutions and translating requirements into specifications suitable for use by system developers.
  • Working with system developers to understand technical options, identifying appropriate solutions and agreeing specifications for system changes
  • Defining appropriate testing (functional, user acceptance and regression) to ensure that system changes perform as specified, and that they are safe to release into the live environment.
  • Understanding pension administration system functionality including calculations, interfaces, processes, letters system updates, and self-service applications.
  • Supporting the delivery of major projects by leading analysis and development-related work-streams.

Key Skills Required:

  • At least 5 years in depth understanding of pensions administration, policies and procedures, for CARE, Defined Benefit and Defined Contribution schemes.
  • At least 5 years of implementing and testing core aspects of pension administration systems, including data, calculations, processes, letters and interfaces.
  • At least 5 years of producing and reviewing system specifications, e.g. calculation specifications, process maps, member output and reporting specifications and templates.
  • A good level of knowledge and experience of maintaining and supporting pensions administration systems and software applications.
  • Analytical skills with the ability to gather and evaluate requirements and transform these into a comprehensible functional specification.
  • Experience of communicating complex issues to different audiences.
  • Excellent planning and organising skills.
  • Ability to work well within a team.
