Job Title: Perishables Customs Clearance SpecialistLocation: Iver, Buckinghamshire 
Job Type: 4on-4off / 07:00am- 19:00pm
Salary: £40,000 per annum
Job Summary:
The Perishables Customs Clearance Specialist is responsible for ensuring that all perishable goods entering or leaving the country comply with customs regulations. This role involves preparing and submitting documentation for import and export, liaising with customs authorities, and ensuring that perishable goods are cleared efficiently to maintain their quality and compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Documentation Preparation:
    • Prepare and process import/export documentation according to customs regulations and company policies.
    • Ensure all necessary documents, such as invoices, shipping documents, and certificates of origin, are accurate and complete.
  • Customs Compliance:
    • Ensure that all imported and exported perishables comply with relevant customs laws, regulations, and standards.
    • Keep abreast of changes in customs laws and regulations related to perishable goods.
  • Coordination and Communication:
    • Liaise with customs authorities, freight forwarders, and other relevant parties to ensure smooth and timely clearance of goods.
    • Coordinate with internal teams, including logistics, warehousing, and procurement, to ensure accurate and timely customs clearance.
  • Inspection and Quality Control:
    • Arrange for the inspection of perishable goods by customs authorities as required.
    • Ensure that perishable goods are stored and handled correctly to maintain their quality throughout the customs clearance process.
  • Problem Resolution:
    • Address and resolve any issues or delays related to the customs clearance of perishable goods.
    • Handle customs queries and disputes in a professional and timely manner.
  • Record Keeping and Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate records of all customs transactions and documentation.
    • Generate and submit required reports to management and regulatory bodies.
Qualifications:
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in customs clearance, preferably with a focus on perishable goods.
    • Experience in working with customs brokers and freight forwarders.
    • Knowledge of ETSF warehouse and ETSF import clearances desired
  • Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of customs regulations and procedures.
    • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
    • Proficiency in using customs clearance software and Microsoft Office Suite.
