Job Title: Pest Control Officer
Location: Royal Borough of Greenwich
Salary / Pay Rate: £23 - £25
Job Type: Full-time, Contract/Permanent

Key responsibilities include:

• A Pest Control Officer is responsible for conducting surveys of properties to identify infestations and determine appropriate treatments.
• Undertaking pest control treatments, including baiting, poisoning, and trapping of rodents and other pests.
• Collaborating with the Repairs Service team to manage pest control activities effectively.
• Maintaining and deploying equipment and materials in accordance with regulations.
• Collecting payments from customers and issuing receipts as per council procedures.
• Implementing pigeon and rodent proofing measures, including faecal matter removal.
• Keeping accurate records, preparing reports, and completing necessary documentation.
• Conducting emergency pest control visits, including work outside normal office hours.
• Ensuring the safe handling, storage, and use of pesticides and other hazardous materials.
• Liaising with tenants, property owners, and council departments to provide advice and ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
• Attending meetings, providing reports, and representing the council in legal matters when required.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Experience in pest control, including identification and treatment of infestations.
• Knowledge of relevant pest control legislation, codes of practice, and health and safety regulations.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to liaise with residents, businesses, and other stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends when required.
• A full UK driving licence (desirable but not essential).
