Sales Manager - Benelux and Nordics

I am working with a leading supplier of pharmaceutical chemicals, who are looking for an experienced sales person, who will cover the Benelux and Nordics region. The candidate will be responsible for supplying API and Intermediate pharmaceuticals to major pharma manufacturers. English is essential, but a second language could also be quite beneficial. Extensive travel will be required 25-50%.

The Sales Manager is responsible for handling a portfolio of new and existing accounts in the Nordics and Benelux region. These accounts make up the highest percentage of company income, and the sales manager must build a strong relationship with the client to maintain current business and develop further sales. They will be the lead point of contact for all key client matters, anticipate the client's needs, work within the company to ensure deadlines for the client are met, and help the client succeed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Developing a solid and trusting relationship with existing customers.
Generate, qualify, and prospect new opportunities within existing and new customers on the territory.
Call / Visit to decision makers within customer organisation.
Developing a complete understanding the customer needs.
Analyse current sales figures and trends
Managing communications between clients and internal teams, including external partners.
Get product Request for Quote (RFQ) and provide product quotations and pricing.
Meeting client needs and deliverables according to proposed timelines.
Negotiating contracts with the client and establishing a timeline of performance.
Resolving client issues and complaints with the support of other teams within the company: Customer Service, Logistic, Quality.
Planning and presenting reports on account progress, goals, and quarterly initiatives to share with team members, stakeholders, and possible use in future case studies or company training.
Budget per account / territory, forecast, opportunities pipeline maintenance on ERP.
Recognising customers' stage in the decision cycle and setting action to the next step
Monthly reporting: sales & GP vs budget, opportunities pipeline status, highlights and lowlights per initiative.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Minimum 5 to 10 years' experience as sales manager or relevant experience in the pharmaceutical ingredient market.Ideally raw material (API/Intermediates)
Proven results of delivering client solutions and meeting sales goals.
Master's degree in Chemistry and/or Business.

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, ETC.:

In-depth understanding of value chain and key players within related market space.
Goal-oriented, organised team player.
Self-motivated and self-directed, eager to expand the company with new sales.
Able to analyse data and sales statistics and translate results into solutions.
Excellent interpersonal relationship skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; must be a listener, a presenter, and a people-person.
Strong negotiation skills, with ability follow-through on client contracts.
Able to multitask, prioritise, and manage time efficiently, project management skills.
