Backend PHP Developer - Up to £45,000 - Brighton - 9 Day Fortnight

Our client is a creative and professional agency who create award-winning work. They have a range of diverse clients, including commercial, Not for Profit, and NGO organizations. They are seeking a Backend Developer to support their team of front and backend developers, designers, and account managers.

Role Overview:

• Support requests, project work, and enhancing internal tools and procedures.
• Use TYPO3 CMS, with training provided.
• Deploy code to production within the first week; handle support tickets independently within the first month.
• Collaborate using a hosted Git environment.
• Work from the office in Brighton twice a week.

Interview Process:

• Two or three interviews with the CTO and team members.
• No technical interviews; meetings are conversational.

Responsibilities:

• Develop on live projects and existing websites.
• Support the backend development team.
• Perform upgrades and conversions.
• Collaborate on documentation.
• Assist designers and account managers with debugging and issue explanations.

Required Skills:

• PHP and MySQL experience.
• Comfortable with Composer.
• Strong communication skills.
• Understanding of version control.
• Preferably command line experience (sys-admin is a plus).
• Willingness to learn and grow.
