PHP Developer

- Salary: £25,000 - £50,000 per annum, DOE

We are on the lookout for a PHP Developer with a passion for modern PHP development to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a technical environment and is eager to take on complex challenges in object-oriented PHP.
Day to Day of the Role:- Develop and maintain bespoke websites and business systems using modern PHP (PHP 7 or 8).
- Apply object-oriented principles to create reusable and efficient code.
- Manage dependencies with Composer and potentially separate code into packages.
- Contribute to a variety of projects, possibly including e-commerce platforms.
- Ensure code quality through testing, writing standards-compliant PHP, and setting up continuous integration.
- Collaborate with team members to solve complex problems and improve development processes.
- Stay focused on delivery and be able to showcase work you’re proud of.
- Proficiency in modern PHP (PHP 7 or 8) with a strong understanding of object-oriented principles.
- Experience with PHP frameworks or large, complex applications.
- Commitment to code quality, with experience in PHPUnit, writing standards-compliant PHP, or setting up continuous integration.
- Ability to troubleshoot and debug effectively.
- Proven track record of delivering projects successfully.
- Willingness to learn and develop new skills.
- Full-stack development capabilities with HTML, CSS (or SASS), and JavaScript.
- E-commerce experience, particularly with payment processing.
- Knowledge of web performance optimization.
- Strong SQL skills, particularly with MariaDB.
- Sysadmin and DevOps experience, familiarity with AWS, Debian, Puppet, and Terraform.
- Experience with ElasticSearch.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
