PHYSICS TEACHER

September 2024 - Finchley

Prospero Teaching are looking for a Physics teacher to join an Ofsted Good, mixed and diverse secondary school in the heart of Finchley. The school is easily accessible Angel/Islington if you are driving directly through the main road A1000. Don't drive? You can still access the school by taking the Northern Line to Woodside Park.

This Physics teaching position starts in September 2025 and is a full-time teaching position. The school is well equipped with multiple modern science labs. You need to be able to teach all key stages including GCSE and A Level however the school will be looking for candidate who is confident in leading KS4 and KS5 classes.

THE HEAD OF PHYSICS POSITION:

  • Full-time Physics
  • Ideally starting September 2024
  • Teach all key stages including GCSE and A Level
  • This is a mainstream, Ofsted Outstanding secondary school
  • The Biology and Science department is well resourced
  • Full time (5 days a week) position including
  • Parking is available on site and the school is well served by public transport

ABOUT THE SUCCESSFUL PHYSICS WILL BE:

  • Qualified Physics or Science technology teacher - UK or Overseas Physics or Science Teacher
  • Ideally hold a teaching qualification (QTS or QTLS preferred) or equivalent.
  • Someone who can manage students of different abilities and differentiate lessons in line with the needs of the students
  • You will be proactive and innovative with the ability to engage students in different ways.
  • Be a team player

CONTRACT DETAILS FOR THE PHYSICS TEACHER POSITION:

  • Location - Edgeware
  • Start date - September 2024
  • Contract type - temporary with a view to becoming permanent after 12 weeks
  • Duration / Likely Duration - September 2024 - 2025
  • Full time/part time - Full time 5 days
  • Minimum rate of pay - Outer Pay Scale

  • Lots of energy and enthusiasm
  • The ability to engage and motivate students and staff
  • Excellent communication skills - the school encourages good communication with parents / carers
