Job Title: Physiotherapist

Grade: Band 6

Location: Watford General Hospital, Vicarage Road Watford WD18 0HU

Ward/Dept: Stroke Unit

Hours: Full time - Up to 37.5 hours per week

Shift Pattern: Mon - Fri, 8-4pm, or 8.30-4.30pm

Pay Rates - Day: £19.01

West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust have an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Physiotherapist to join their Hyper acute and Acute stroke unit.

The role will include assessing and treating patients within hours of their stroke, providing them with high quality care, and onward discharge planning. There is sometimes a small medical caseload of patients on the stroke unit that will be assessed and managed.

The team on the Stroke unit comprises of an expert MDT, and the therapists work fully integrated with support across professions. The unit has a supportive and friendly atmosphere and strives for excellence as seen in their SSNAP results.

Responsibilities of this job role

  • Provide specialist assessment and individualised treatment for stroke patients with complex needs, provide expert advice and signposting, and reasoned & collaborative discharge plans and act as an autonomous practitioner.
  • Be confident in MDT communication, and able to coordinate, discuss and communicate discharge plans with all MDT members.
  • Hold responsibility for own caseload, time management, note keeping and compliance with completing team audits and KPI’s, working without direct supervision.
  • Support junior staff members and non-qualified staff in their clinical reasoning, caseloads and supervisions.

To be successful in applying for this role you will need:

HCPC registered.

Degree In Physiotherapy or equivalent.

In addition to experience, all Qualified roles will be required to provide evidence of

  • Relevant Qualifications
  • Registration with the relevant Registration Body if applicable.
