Hrs: 08:00 - 16:00hrs (some flexibility)

Our client is a highly reputable $1.6B Global Company, specialising in developing, producing, and distributing a broad range of specialty Chemicals, Minerals & Niche Products for markets including Construction, Agriculture, Steel, Oil & Gas industries.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Plant Manager to be based in Cork, Ireland. By leading and developing a small team of production operators, maintenance technicians and contractors, you will be responsible for maintaining and striving for improvements to existing standards, and lead change initiatives to raise overall factory performance.

As the Plant Manager, your duties will be:
  • Ensure that the site operates within all necessary and corporate safety requirements.
  • Achieve customer requirements in the most cost-effective way, without faulting on quality standards.
  • Deliver plant financial performance.
  • Drive the Operational Excellence programme and be a champion of Standard Work procedures and 5S.
  • Lead continuous improvement activities and encourage all team members to participate.
  • Maximise utilisation and efficiency of plant and equipment, ensuring a robust program of TPM.
  • Supervise the performance of staff by setting goals and objectives and other performance training.
  • Lead safety meetings and conduct regular toolbox talks.

The successful Plant Manager will have the following skills and experience: -
  • Must have a degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Previous working history within a Foreman or Managerial position is required.
  • Experience and knowledge of Lean, Quality, Environmental and health & Safety systems.
  • IT literate, with knowledge of ERP systems (Oracle system would be ideal)
  • Excellent leader and communicator, with the ability to drive/inspire his/her team.
  • Excellent customer facing, commercial and financial skills.

Due to the nature of the role, you must hold a valid Passport and Full Driving Licence with the flexibility to travel on occasions if required.
