We are looking for a skilled Plumber to join our team, undertaking responsive, routine, and void repairs to housing and corporate assets. This role requires a professional who can work across a diverse property portfolio, including social housing, schools, and heritage sites, delivering high-quality workmanship and ensuring compliance with health & safety standards.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Conduct a wide range of plumbing repairs in occupied and empty properties, including bathroom installations, emergency repairs, and tiling.
  • Ensure quality workmanship and safety during repairs, including the safe disposal of waste.
  • Prepare and protect tenants’ property before starting work and leave areas clean and tidy upon completion.
  • Remain professional and polite, even in challenging situations, and seek support when necessary.
  • Take ownership of jobs from start to completion, adhering to the company’s processes and ensuring clear communication with the Operations Centre.
  • Perform risk assessments and use appropriate PPE to carry out work safely.
  • Aim to complete repairs in one visit, scheduling any required follow-up appointments directly with tenants.
  • Keep your van clean, tidy, and well-organised to facilitate efficient work.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Competent in using phones or PDAs for effective communication.
  • Professional demeanor when dealing with residents and council representatives.
  • Organised approach to meet demands effectively and timely.
  • Ability to diagnose and execute the right repair following value steps.
  • Team player with a willingness to share knowledge and learn from others.
  • Proactive in identifying and addressing personal development needs.
  • Practical understanding of health and safety requirements.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed decisions.
  • Self-management and motivation with efficient work prioritisation.
Knowledge & Experience:
  • Demonstrable competence in plumbing with the necessary tools for the job.
  • Up-to-date technical, statutory, and legislative knowledge relevant to the trade.
  • Familiarity with materials and methods used in the building and maintenance industry.
  • NVQ level 2-3 in plumbing or equivalent; trade-based experience may be considered.
  • 2 – 5 years of experience in social housing or building maintenance environments.
  • A full, clean current driving licence.
