Lecturer in Plumbing
  • Salary: £27,425 - £40,369 per annum

We are seeking a dedicated Lecturer in Plumbing to join our Construction department. The successful candidate will provide high-quality teaching and learning, contribute to course design, and support the expansion of the department. This role is ideal for someone passionate about education and skilled in the plumbing trade.

Day to Day of the Role:
  • Deliver high-quality teaching and learning across a range of programmes to learners of various ages and abilities, which may include evening, Saturday, and summer periods.
  • Develop and maintain teaching materials, including handouts, assignments, booklists, and electronic resources.
  • Prepare Schemes of Work and Schemes of Assessment and carry out moderation/assessment and verification.
  • Act as a course tutor, supporting learners in achieving their targets, tracking and reviewing student progress.
  • Assist in the recruitment and admission of new students and contribute to promotional events and materials.
  • Maintain professional development and establish industrial links within the plumbing industry.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • A minimum of a level 3 vocational qualification in Plumbing.
  • GCSE grade C or equivalent in English and Maths.
  • Certificate in Education/PGCE/DTLLS/DET or willingness to obtain.
  • Substantial, recent, and relevant industrial experience relating to Plumbing.
  • Good interpersonal & communication skills and the ability to motivate people of all ages and abilities.
  • High levels of IT skills with the ability to create teaching resources.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required and travel independently to other centres operated or staffed by the College.
