A Specialist SEND school in Croydon are looking for a creative and enthusiastic SLD/PMLD Teacher to join their school on a contract basis from September 2024.

The Role

In this role you will teaching in a mixed age primary class of pupils who are SLD and PMLD learners. You will be supported by a team of experienced teaching assistants to deliver highly personalised teaching and learning, therapy programmes and personal care. You will have support from senior leadership and access to regular CPD training to support you to develop your practice with complex learners

The school are looking for a SLD & PMLD Teacher with the following:

• Experience of PMLD / SLD /complex needs

• Confident working in of a large inter-disciplinary team alongside medical and therapy staff

The school

This Specialist SEND School offers children with complex physical disabilities, medical needs, speech and language and a range of associated learning difficulties a specialist learning environment. The school supports pupils from 4 – 16 years olds’ with a focus on providing learning experiences that will develop the whole child / young person to be as independent as possible, gain skills and knowledge that will prepare them for adulthood and an enriching life. All students attending the school have an Education Health and Care Plan and have a number of dedicated professionals working with them in order to support them to reach their potential. The school uses a multi-disciplinary approach with teachers, therapists and support workers working closely together to ensure pupils to feel safe, well and emotionally regulated. The school includes a therapy pool, sensory room, occupational therapy room and indoor and outdoor play areas.
