PMO Portfolio Manager- Higher Education- Transformation

PMO Portfolio Manager with extensive experience of establishing PMO functions and leading a PMO team is required to support our London Russell Group University client to set up and lead a PMO team to support a strategic change across the institution.

The PMO Portfolio Manager will be responsible for establishing and embedding the core foundations and functions of a new Project Management Office (PMO), ensuring projects across the portfolio adhere to PMO standards and procedures whilst measuring their benefits realisation.

  • Experience of establishing and implementing PMO standards, reporting, benefits realisation and tracking.
  • Extensive knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices, (Planview, JIRA & Scrum.)
  • Strong understanding of portfolio management processes and governance frameworks.
  • Experience of working within a large higher education, blue-chip or similarly complex environment.
  • Strong understanding of portfolio management processes and governance frameworks.
  • Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to mentor and guide project managers and other stakeholders.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, capable of collaborating effectively with diverse teams and senior management.
  • Ability to work effectively in ambiguous situations, demonstrating strong problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proven ability to work under pressure, managing multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Experience of working within a change environment and implementing green filed PMO functions.

6 months initial contract

£600-£650pday inside IR35-Hybriod working with 1-2 days per week on site in central London
