Reed is collaborating with a family-run business who are seeking a friendly, active, enthusiastic, and committed Porter to join their team in a fast-paced environment.
Day-to-day of the role:
Handle a wide range of valuable items, including large pieces of furniture, paintings, and delicate ceramics and glass.
Assist with day-to-day saleroom duties including customer service, stock management, and preparation of internet catalogues.
Involved in receiving, photographing, displaying, and processing lots.
Assist in picking and packing purchased lots for dispatch and support customers with loading their vehicles.
Participate in loading and unloading vans and perform other general duties including viewing and sale day roles.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Excellent customer service skills with proficient written and spoken English.
Good computer and internet skills.
Strong attention to detail and a methodological approach to work.
An interest in antiques and collectables is preferable, though no prior experience is necessary.
A professional, positive attitude and reliability.
Ability to cope with a physically demanding role.
Must be legally entitled to work in the UK.
Flexibility to work occasional weekends, usually 4 times per year on a Sunday afternoon.
