We are currently seeking a Portfolio Manager to join our esteemed UK Strategy & Innovation business area. This role offers 12-month fixed term contracts. The position will require regular travel between our key sites at Nottingham, Coventry and London, enabling collaboration and engagement across our network, with the benefit of a hybrid working arrangement.

Here's what you'll be doing

Are you ready to be at the forefront of a strategic revolution in the UK energy market? Join E.ON UK as a Portfolio Manager and play a pivotal role in driving our UK Flexibility market strategy. This critical position will empower you to oversee innovative projects and pilot trials, shaping the future of energy flexibility in the UK. Reporting directly to the Head of UK Flexibility.

Key Responsibilities:

Project & Portfolio Management:

  • Oversee flexibility projects and trials, ensuring comprehensive coverage, stage management, and progress tracking.
  • Support project managers in preparation for key decisions and manage project interdependencies.

Leadership & Coordination:

  • Facilitate and manage the overall flex development programme, including planning, monthly boards reports, progress tracking, and risk reporting.
  • Establish and lead internal flex forums and events with business leaders.

Strategic Engagement and Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Engage with project owners to understand flexibility needs, collect insights, and inform future strategies.
  • Collaborate with business directors to align plans, track resources, share learnings and close gaps.

Talent Development:

  • Assist in recruiting and onboarding new talent, including developing and implementing a flex induction program.

  • Strong knowledge of managing a portfolio of projects in line with an innovation process, stages, and stage gates
  • Programme management experience - but with agility and flexibility
  • Facilitating programme planning sessions
  • Presentation skills for different audiences
  • Mobilising cross-functional resources
  • Ability to support experiment design and associated project management
  • Ability to spot and understand customer, commercial, technical insights
  • Ability to cope with short notice requests and deliver high results, as needed by senior stakeholders, including Group, UK CEO, UK Flex Sponsor
  • Relevant energy and adjacent sector knowledge
