About our client

We're working with one of the UK's leading UK SME investors which is looking to add to its portfolio team. You'll be intricately involved with some of the UK's most exciting growth businesses and entrepreneurs. You will support them during their time in the portfolio, help them achieve their goals, assist in bolt-on acquisitions, and prepare and facilitate an exit. It's looking for someone passionate about working with portfolio companies and making a real difference. What the job involves

  • Board seat responsibility for a number of portfolio companies
  • Liaise on a regular basis with portfolio company management teams/finance directors to ensure plans are on target
  • Working closely with CEOs and business owners as a trusted strategic advisor, responsible for further investments, talent resourcing, negotiating with key stakeholders and exit planning
  • Liaise with external auditors through the valuation process
Who we are looking for

  • An experienced UK investment and/or portfolio professional who has sat on numerous UK company boards
  • Proven ability to develop strong working relationships with management teams and affect real change and growth in portfolio companies
  • A track record of managing further investments, and planning and executing exits
  • Strong financial modelling, accounting and business analysis skills - rigorous, accurate and detail orientated
