POWER ENGINEER

Our client, a well established utilities group, are seeking an experienced Power Engineer to join their growing team.

As a Power Engineer you will be responsible for the installation, control, operation and maintenance of ac & dc low voltage power systems including generation and UPS systems, environmental systems, building engineering services (BES), security and fire alarm systems.

Skills and duties include:

  • Monitor and schedule vendor repair of UPS, HVAC, motors, controls, plumbing, back-up generator systems and similar equipment
  • Repair and maintenance of all aspects of physical plant, with a focus on electrical systems
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience working with electrical systems, controls, and mechanical systems
  • The ability to read, comprehend, and work from technical documents, blueprints, single-lines, and electrical schematics
  • Corrective and preventive maintenance including performing non-scheduled or emergency maintenance when required to support continuous operations
  • Analyze and solve electrical and mechanical problems which cause interruptions or otherwise limit productive capacity of all data center equipment
  • On call working to provide emergency cover out of hours

The ideal candidate will hold a strong sense of ownership and responsibility, problem-solving and decision-making skills; and strong verbal & good written communication skills

They will also hold a healthy respect for utilities, tools and power systems and the safety required when working with them and must be familiar with and strictly adhere to safety guidelines, Standards and Regulations
