Primary PE Teacher

• Salary:£120 - £220 daily rate depending on experience and qualifications

We are seeking a qualified PE Teacher to join a SEN School, working full-time to support primary age students with severe learning difficulties and autism. This role is ideal for a compassionate individual with a passion for physical education and a commitment to inclusive teaching practices.

• Delivering engaging PE lessons tailored to the needs of students with severe learning difficulties and autism.
• Utilising specialised communication techniques such as PECS and Makaton to enhance student understanding and engagement.
• Implementing Intensive Interaction and Attention Autism strategies to support cognitive development.
• Adapting teaching methods to suit the learning levels of students, many of whom have cognition levels below 24 months of age.
• Collaborating with other teaching staff to create a supportive and effective learning environment.
• Monitoring and assessing student progress, adapting lesson plans to meet their evolving needs.

• Must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Experience in teaching children with severe learning difficulties and autism is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in using PECS, Makaton, Intensive Interaction, and Attention Autism.
• Understanding of Early Years teaching strategies.
• Ability to create and adapt lesson plans to meet the individual needs of students.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, staff, and parents.
