Primary Teaching Assistant

  • Daily Rate: £80-£100
  • Location: South Birmingham
  • Job Type: Full-time, Long Term

Reed Education are seeking a committed Teaching Assistant for our client based in south Birmingham. We are looking for someone with a specialism in Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and the ability to adapt to various year groups. This role is perfect for someone proactive, ready to support students’ and contribute positively to the school’s nurturing environment.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Collaborate with teachers to deliver classroom activities and foster a supportive learning environment.
  • Aid in the educational and social development of children, particularly in EYFS, and be flexible to assist other year groups as needed.
  • Prepare and organise learning materials as directed by the teaching staff.
  • Provide targeted support to individual pupils or small groups to reinforce learning concepts.
  • Track and document student progress, offering feedback to both teachers and parents.
  • Help cultivate a safe and inclusive atmosphere conducive to learning for all students.
  • Engage in school meetings and pursue professional development to enhance educational skills.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • A Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths at Grade C/5 or above.
  • Prior experience in an educational setting, especially with EYFS.
  • The ability to adjust to the needs of different year groups.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A proactive stance in assisting both educators and students.
  • A passion for education and dedication to creating a positive learning space.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
