Principal Designer

A specialist health, safety, and construction design risk management consultancy based in the Midlands is looking for a Principal Designer to join their dynamic team.

The Principal Designer Role

The successful Principal Designer will join a dynamic team dedicated to enhancing health and safety across a variety of construction projects. The role involves -

• Acting as the Principal Designer on multiple projects, ensuring compliance with CDM 2015 regulations.
• Providing expert advice on health and safety matters during the design and construction phases.
• Coordinating with clients, architects, and contractors to identify and mitigate potential risks.
• Preparing and reviewing health and safety documentation including pre-construction information and construction phase plans.
• This role offers the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, from small-scale residential developments to large, complex commercial builds, providing a diverse and engaging work environment.

The ideal Principal Designer will have:

• Specific experience in Principal Designer roles.
• A background in construction or design.
• Strong knowledge of CDM regulations and health and safety standards.
• Consultancy experience and a proactive, positive attitude.
• Relevant qualifications such as NEBOSH Construction Certificate, APS membership, or equivalent.
