Techniche Global are supporting an engineering defence contractor to appoint a Principal Engineer Nuclear Process

You will play a key role across a range of projects across the Devonport site. You will act a subject matter expert, providing advice to the Head of Nuclear Engineering Group, other Principal Engineers and key stakeholders from the wider business on the implementation and maintenance of design documentation.

Key responsibilities: 
    • Acting as subject matter expert and leading the provision of advice to the Head of Nuclear Engineering Group, other Principal Engineers and key stakeholders from the wider business on the implementation and maintenance of design documentation 
    • Managing and developing a team of Engineers with varying levels of seniority/experience
    • Leading the delivery of work packages in accordance with the design process in order to maintain and improve capabilities
    • Managing the production, checking and approval of technical documentation and drawings
    • Leading engineering analyses including calculations, component structural analysis and system fluid flow analysis
    • Controlling modifications to the design intent of nuclear process plant and equipment
    • Ensuring compliance with relevant codes, standards and regulation
Qualifications required: 
  • A degree in a Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
  • Professional membership as a Chartered Engineer with a relevant institution (or evidence of working towards this with demonstrable experience)
The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance for this role.
