Process Technician

  • Location: west Suffolk, near Cambridgeshire
  • Full-time and permanent position
  • 4 days on, 4 days off, 12h day shift (including weekends)
  • Start: ASAP

Reed Scientific are partnering with a chemical manufacturer and distributor of specialty chemicals and ingredients to multiple European markets. They are now looking for an experienced technician with chemical hazards awareness and experience working under Health, Safety & Environment procedures and handling chemicals.

Main responsibilities:

  • Handling raw materials and finished products in accordance with Health & Safety procedures
  • Following SOPs to carry out chemical production processes of materials
  • Monitoring the equipment and processes, as well as recording data and reporting any issues
  • Packing finished products and re-packaging of materials
  • Chemical waste disposal
  • Working in accordance with 5S methodology

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working under Health, Safety & Environment procedures and handling chemicals
  • Chemical hazards awareness
  • Understanding of COSHH, manual handling training, experience working to 5S standards and lean manufacturing techniques would be an advantage
  • Good communication skills and IT competency
