A successful manufacturing business require a Buyer on a 6 month FTC basis. Applicants need to be confident in operational purchasing / procurement tasks; raising purchase orders, expediting, spot negotiations and working within MRP/ERP.

The Procurement Buyer will join the procurement team on a 6 month FTC basis to cover a spike in workload. The focus for the Procurement Buyer will be to undertake operational purchasing / procurement tasks and day-to-day tactical supplier liaison, such as raising and chasing Purchase Orders and maintain data within MRP/ERP.

Specific duties of the Procurement Buyer include:

  • Raising/Amending Purchase Orders
  • Expediting overdue Purchase Orders and late deliveries with suppliers
  • Maintenance/update of procurement department data in MRP
  • Support supplier selection decisions
  • Interdepartmental liaison between procurement and production to avoid material shortages
  • Resolve invoice queries
  • Supplier interactions - onboarding, management via KPI, review meetings and relationship buidling

Procurement Buyer applicants should meet the following criteria:

  • Experience as a; Junior Buyer, Buyer, Purchasing Assistant, Procurement Assistant, Procurement Administrator, Purchasing Administrator Expeditor etc.
  • Familiarity with MRP/ERP systems
  • Confident with interactions with external stakeholders and external supply partners
  • Previous experience within a manufacturing, engineering or FMCG business
  • Comfortable working a 6 month FTC and being site-based
