Cedar are supporting a client, operating in the 3rd sector, who are looking to hire a Procurement Category Manager based in Central London. This is a permanent job opportunity that is offering a salary up to c£60,000 per annum plus a range of benefits. This role will also operate on a hybrid working basis with the expectation to be on-site 1-2 days per week. This is an exciting new opportunity within the organisation working closely with the Head of Procurement to deliver savings and implement best practice.

Reporting into the Head of Procurement, the Procurement Category Manager will work in a small team and will be responsible for managing a range of Procurement covering c£500m in spend in areas such as; FM, ICT, Estates, Construction, Corporate and Professional Services. This role will require you to lead the delivery of the category strategies, governance, and policies, and help deliver significant value through market-specific strategic sourcing initiatives and supplier relationship management. Procurement is at an early stage of a transformation programme - the key aim is to deliver real benefits to the organisation and deliver best in class approach. As a result of this the role is very much in a greenfield environment so the successful candidate will support the creation of processes, implementation of systems and hands on delivery of savings by working closely with key stakeholders and suppliers.

Candidates applying for this role MUST HAVE:

  • MCIPS qualification, or ideally working towards MCIPS qualification i.e. CIPS Level 4 or 5 completed already
  • Strong background working in Category Management and delivering savings within a large, national, organisation
  • Experience creating category strategies, developing processes and drafting contracts is required
  • Strong stakeholder and supplier relationship management skills

Given this is a greenfield type opportunity the successful candidate needs to be comfortable working in an environment where processes, policies and procedures may not already exist - the successful candidate will need to have the self-awareness and motivation to create/deliver processes, policies and procedures where required.
