About the company & Role:


We are working with an organisation that is looking to hire a procurement manager on temporary basis.
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Procurement Contracts Manager to join their growing team. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the organisation procures goods and services effectively, efficiently, and in accordance with best practices.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic procurement processes for a diverse range of goods and services.
  • Oversee the entire contract life-cycle, from initial vendor identification to negotiation, finalisation, and ongoing management.
  • Lead and manage the tendering process, encompassing the creation of comprehensive tender documents, bid evaluation, and vendor selection.
  • Assume responsibility for the organisation's contract register, ensuring all details are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Provide expert guidance and support to colleagues on procurement policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Lead and manage a team of procurement professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives to optimise the Trust's procurement spend.


Requirements:

  • A relevant business or professional qualification, or demonstrably equivalent specialist knowledge gained through experience.
  • Proven experience within a procurement environment.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
  • Excellent organisational and time management abilities.
  • The capacity to work independently and collaboratively within a team setting.
  • A commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
  • Membership of a recognised procurement professional body (e.g., CIPS) or actively working towards qualification.
  • A project management qualification.
  • Experience leading and motivating a team.
  • Familiarity with various supplier landscapes.
  • Knowledge of contract law.

Salary:

An hourly rate of £24 and benefits package.
