Butler Rose are delighted to be working with a Tiverton based manufacturer who have a current requirement for a Procurement Officer. The role will be wide ranging in scope but will see the chosen candidate join the business to focus on monitoring, maintaining and identifying new supplier relationships for business optimisation.

This is an excellent opportunity for a purchasing professional looking to take a step up in their career, or an experienced buyer who is keen to work with a small and dedicated team, in a technical purchasing role. Duties are wide ranging in scope, but include the following:

  • Undertake day-to-day routine purchasing activities.
  • Perform regular and comprehensive performance reviews across the supply base, through formal supplier review meetings.
  • Identify and implement corrective action plans to improve quality, cost and delivery performance.
  • Develop improved purchasing methods to derive greater department efficiencies.
  • Liaise between suppliers, manufacturing, sales, R&D and other relevant internal departments to develop optimum supply.
  • Lead supplier development programmes that drives fundamental change within the supply chain to support future customer and business needs

To be chosen for the role you must possess the following skills/experience:

  • Minimum 5 years in a procurement role working independently carrying out negotiations, supplier visits, sourcing new products
  • Knowledge of MRP systems
  • Finding new suppliers and alternative products

Benefits/Details

  • Salary up to £35,000
  • Monday - Friday 8/9am - 4/5pm - 35 hours per week
  • Benefits package including pension and healthcare cashback schemes
  • 25-days per year (full-time) plus Bank Holidays
  • Hybrid working to be an option on completion of training / probation
